FAQs
What exactly does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor has a very in-depth understanding of the human musculoskeletal and nervous system.
Chiropractic works by improving the communication between your brain and your body. A better functioning brain will almost always result in a better functioning body, which often equates to increased strength, better mobility and general a greater awareness of what is going on in your body.
The primary focus of your care is improved brain body communication (aka: improved nervous system function), chiropractic care has been shown to have positive effects on many health conditions not normally thought of as "back" problems.

The main aim is to work with you to get you well in the shortest time possible without surgery or drugs and to keep it that way for a long time, if not for life.

What can you expect during your initial visit?

On your first visit, we will take as much time as needed to get a good idea of what is going on, where those areas of concern are and what the most likely cause of them is. Addressing the cause of your health concerns is one of the main pillars of Chiropractic Care, in comparison to simply masking symptoms.
All of this is accomplished by an in depth conversation about your specific health concerns and giving you the opportunity to ask questions at any stage to clarify anything that is not crystal clear.
Afterwards we will perform a thorough orthopaedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination.
If we feel the need that anything further is needed e.g. x-rays or blood tests we will refer you out to get these done.
Our approach involves modalities like manual therapy, home exercises, lifestyle recommendations, neurological application and/or general nutritional suggestions.
If you have seen Chiropractors in the past, remember that even though we all aim for the same goal, we might have slightly different approaches and techniques, so don’t be afraid to ask questions to make sure we are a right fit for your needs and goals.

Do I need a referral from my medical doctor to see a Chiropractor?
Chiropractors are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority and are seen as primary care physicians. This means you do not require any referral. Just like you don’t need a referral to see your dentist or medical doctor of choice.
